While I can relate to this I also know my current roommate has ADHD, seasonal depression and severe executive dysfunction. I used to be quick to anger when it came to people not functioning like me or how I wanted them to, at least until I realized there’s a story behind everyone’s ‘why’ and whether it be lack of parents teaching their kids or mental disorders/ physical ailments.
I also have diagnosed ADHD and struggle with significant executive dysfunction, in addition to multiple other severe mental illnesses. My parents also did not make me clean as a kid or teach me how to. With those considerations, I have an even harder time understanding why I am the one who cares the most. Even if I have an episode, I’m still the one eventually cleaning. If a roommate had a physical disability it would make more sense, but they don’t, so it’s even harder to understand.
