“You’re my adult I turn my brain off with you” you’re almost 22 no I’m not treating you like a toddler. Lost their water bottle bc “you didn’t remind me”

heeeelllll no you are not responsible for them in any way shape or form. that’s not a “cute silly little quirky” thing to say, it just shows immaturity and lack of awareness

Extra context, she blames literally everything on having ADHD. She’s been diagnosed since sixth grade and has had all resources available. I just got diagnosed a few months ago. Sure as a kid that could be an excuse but at this point now. You’ve had this long with tools helping you to learn to function.

What’s crazy is a lot of you are talking like this is my gf. No, it’s my friend. She can’t follow basic instructions or rules and it’s “bc of my ADHD”. I’m currently being tested for autism, OCD, and a few other things as well as having been diagnosed with autism. I can function as an adult. It’s sad

OK guys, she started telling me how fun the testing I had to do at a behavioral clinic sounded and how badly she wanted to do that just because it seemed fun. She also was saying how she didn’t know that you actually had to do that kind of stuff in order to get a diagnosis for certain things. It low-key makes me feel like she wants more diagnosis for attention, not bc she’s struggling. Mind you I didn’t find it fun and fought for a long time to get an appointment bc I struggled in school

Yeah. If I have to hear them say they have “baby hands” or “baby legs” as an excuse to not be able to do smth ONE MORE TIME I’ll scream

She genuinely just asked what to do with the cart while we go to the bathroom in Walmart like she’s never been on earth.. also during trips if we ever visit a religious site or it’s an area where you just aren’t meant to be loud, like in Japan, I have to keep reminding her to not be so damn loud. I also pay for her ALOT more than I should be. I only let that slide because sometimes my family gives me money for that because hers isn’t as well off.

Just had these gems last night: Asking me what she had just paid for after paying for her food at a restaurant. I guess she thought I was paying for her. Asked her to start the washer with the detergent from the box. “Brown and green box, put in two sheets”. I was asking her to do it because she was putting stuff in and I didn’t wanna stay up super late to wait for the dryer (I have work). “Is it the Mr clean?” “No”, “oh I found the bag” “it’s a box…”. I was in the shower so I couldn’t just

Come and help. I had also told her to hit the button twice to start it, which she didn’t do so when I got out of the shower it hadn’t started. I ended up falling asleep, waiting for it to end and this morning I moved the stuff to the dryer and it didn’t smell like mildew but a lot of stuff smell kind of weird. I don’t know if it’s from something else that was in the wash, but I just threw in dryer sheets and hoped for the best.

By the way, anyone who may wonder why I didn’t pay because I did mention her family not being well off, I have paid for all the gas, I’ve done all the driving, and I’ve already paid for a few meals. And this area is not cheap. Also, I’m driving everywhere partially because she has gotten into some accidents because she just doesn’t pay attention on the road, but get on me if I go to change music.

OK, sorry I know I keep adding stuff, but she also was trying to beg me to order her drink for her at the restaurant. It’s not that she couldn’t order, she had ordered her entire meal. But she told me she’s never ordered an alcoholic drink before and was scared…. I basically had to coach her on how to order the drink….

I’m not gonna lie. I also just felt really bad posting this. Like I’ve felt this way for a bit, but I just didn’t know how to talk to anyone about it to get advice and I figured here was the best place because it’s anonymous. I still felt bad.

Don’t feel bad about telling the truth. If you feel bad about talking about how she is, your relationship is definitely not healthy. You do all this for her, but does she do anything that makes you feel loved by her? That she appreciates it? That she reciprocates and gives back? Can you see yourself living like this until you die?

It’s not, she only texts me if she needs smth, even if it’s just random knowledge (which she apparently used to get out of work). She’s out here to “help me move” but is using it as a vacation and making a mess

And when I say I fall for long time for an appointment, I didn’t get to go do this until March of this year. I was 21. I have had a really hard time with school for as long as I can remember, but I was still able to get decent grades so nobody ever questioned it. But I also had to work maybe four times as hard and could just never focus properly. But sure “ooo it seems fun I wanna do it”.

It shouldn’t bother me this much, but I fought for that appointment. I fought to be allowed into therapy. Meanwhile, she’s had her whole life and then a month ago. She’s told she has two symptoms of autism so she’s telling us she’s autistic. Meanwhile, at this appointment, the tester said that they basically want to diagnose me with autism because it genuinely seems as though that’s what’s going on, but they can’t do that with only one appointment/test and I can’t pay for more appointments.

Something that’s been pointed out to me by our other friends is that I’m matured and she just never did. Yes it is kind of immature of me to be ranting about this online but she also constantly baby talks when talking about herself for everything so I think I’m a little just to be allowed to rant. After an upcoming trip I’m just done. This person wants to teach btw, specifically birth-kindergarten grade education. And I’m taking care of her. Let that sink in.
