Yall get mad abt the dumbest shit bro, no one owes you a hello 😂 like you never know what someone’s going through. That’s extremely selfish of you to feel entitled to a hello.

Everyone in the comments talking about "no one owes you anything" is the reason why we're so fucked here in the US. No fucking community bc all of yall are so fucking individualistic and self centered that yall have no idea how to create a village. "oh but i have social anxiety" either go to therapy or find resources online on how to get better bc that's YOUR responsibility, not the worlds to coddle. "oh i don't owe you anything" TRUE but you can make an effort to be kind to someone who is to u

Tbf… sounds like something I’d respond with. I have low self confidence so I’d be super taken aback by any compliment, and then internally panic before responding which would lead to the whole “oh ok” or “oh uhm” before saying thanks 😂😂 Then after I’d probably panic a bit thinking the other person thinks I hate them or didn’t like them complimenting me

as someone who was also diagnosed with it i would feel anxious having a random person say hello to me if i was not expecting it. that’s literally part of social anxiety…. fearing social interaction…

I lowkey don't understand people like you. How unusual y'all are. Someone gives you a compliment and you respond out of “low confidence” when all you have to do is say “thanks a lot” and keep it moving? What an existence 😃

Frrrr, I’d bet good money that the people saying that shit are also the ones complaining about the loneliness epidemic

upvote 6 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #26 6w

yes! we wouldn't be so lonely if people actually put in effort in being kind to strangers. People used to have block parties, knew all their neighbors, used to ask neighbors for sugar if they were out. Now, it's weird if you say hello to someone in your apartment complex?????

100%. I understand people have anxiety and maybe don’t want to step out of their comfort zones all the time but that's part of being at college! Taking calculated risk and putting yourself out there.

exactly, if you never leave your comfort zone you'll never grow, you'll never know who you'll meet!

I still say thanks, all I said in mine was that I understand that one could be taken aback if they’re not used to kind words where they start with an “oh uhm” before saying thank you. Like I said in my comment… a lot of mental “panic” happens really quickly when I’m complemented, ESPECIALLY if I go out without trying with my appearance that day

Cry? Who’s crying? Some of yall need to break this mindset and learn to be social and atleast give some sort of acknowledgement to the person who smiles, waves, or literally anything. We are a society and a community. I live around these people for 9 months. We share the same shitter.

no one is saying you don't have free will though? no one is saying you owe people. You can choose to punch people in the face everyday if you want to, but we're saying that acting like an asshole doesn't lead to a better world or community. We're saying if someone is giving you a bid for connection in your community, you can acknowledge it and everyone will be better for off
