Gen Question for the group: reached out a few days ago to my recently ex roommate bc she owed me about $160 for something she was supposed to do and never completed. Today I found a spreadsheet of some other money I know she owes me. Do I ask about it too

Send her a text asking for all the money back and make it clear that none of it was gifts. That way if she refuses you can take her to small claims court for the money.

Further context: most of the stuff on this spreadsheet is from before I’d paid her the $160, and is smaller transactions-these were all things I’d bought for her and she was supposed to pay me back for

Depending upon how much the cost comes to, you could make a claim of if she doesn’t pay you’ll go to court with it (but that’s only for like an extreme push) i do suggest asking for all that’s owed.

I should yeah; my hesitation is that these are from over a year ago(a lot going on there) and I don’t have receipts for all of them

Plus she was already kinda cagey about paying me back the initial $160-she doesn’t currently have an income so she paid me like $54 and as for the rest she’s « working on it »

Do you know she doesn’t have the income or is that just what she told you?

It’s what she told me and based upon previous history I’m inclined to believe her-she didn’t work almost the entire several year period we lived together bc she « couldn’t hold a job » and the one job she did have she was let go from for not meeting expectations VERY shortly after being hired

It’s to the tune of like $250+ 😬

Yeah that’s a lot of money to be owed. Look, I get you want to believe her that she’s actually struggling but take that claim with a grain of salt and at least set up a reasonable deadline for her to have completely paid you back by or you’ll take her to court for the money.
