starting to think i made a mistake signing a lease with my friend. the realtor/landlord haven’t been in touch with me directly once, my friend has been coordinating everything. i don’t even know how im supposed to get my keys this week (1/?)

when i’m chatting with her she’ll randomly drop stuff like “oh my boyfriend is moving in with me!” and “i think we might just move out in december” and “we got another dog!” just a bunch of stuff i wish i would’ve known in advance before signing (2/?)

half the reason i signed on with her was so that i’d have less roommates and less people to share a bathroom with. she said at the time that getting more pets would be a bad idea but then she goes and decides to house her boyfriend’s dog and adopt a cat??

First of all, contact the realtor/landlord directly and ask about the keys because it’s weird they’re only going through one tenant if both your names are on the lease. Second, sit your friend down and get the specifics of what their plans are and shut down parts as needed (telling her the boyfriend can’t move in for example). Honestly if it’s too much for you to handle this is probably the best time to back out and break the lease/transfer the lease to the boyfriend.
