love that both my roommates moved out before the lease is up so i now have to clean the shared spaces myself :,)

I might need to move out before my lease is up and would obviously clean my own space and the shared space as well as I can but what should they have done? I might be able to come back for the walk through and could clean a little before that too but you’re the only one still living there and making messes there?

i totally understand that for sure, however i wasn’t the only one in the living spaces yk so i don’t rlly get why it’s my sole responsibility to clean up after everyone (since they would never clean)

If they never cleaned when they were there and didn’t try to clean to the best of their abilities/around your remaining things when they left that’s a whole different story. But you’re not going to get a move-out level deep clean from them in a common space when you still live there and (I assume) still have stuff there.It’s perfectly reasonable to assume they’d try their best to clean on their way out to “leave no trace” but you’re the last one out so obviously the finishing touches are all you
