How to become friends with my roommate? me and her just basically coexist but I wanna be friends she doesn’t talk much and she is always busy. what do I do?

as someone with nice roommates, i don't care to befriend them i've had bad experiences in the past with roommates whether or not i caused the issue or they did. i'm just out here trying to work on myself and not be bothered by others. i just coexist and prefer that

If she doesn’t want to be friends you shouldn’t force her to- just ask her (when she’s home) if she’d like to hang out or get something to eat and if she says no then accept coexistence

Fr if my roommate forced me to hang out with her when i already have my own schedule, daily routine, friend group, etc i’d be so annoyed

I don’t force her to hang out with me. Me and her have never hang out together. As I said we coexist she is nice and I’m nice back

Of course I will never force anyone to be my friend I just wanted to see if we could be friends since it would be nice since I hear a lot about roommates being besties

i say offer it but don't expect them to follow through maybe it will be a friendship, but don't take it personal if not
