As a white person, I promise we’re not that different. Skin color is not a big deal…

I feel kinda lie saying ā€œit’s a jokeā€ doesn’t make it ok. If I sad the same thing about a black person, I’d get tore up. Race really doesn’t matter as much as everyone thinks it does.

Like I’m not tryna be mean but idk. My campus is majority African American so as a white girl, I feel like I get a lot of judgement so maybe I’m just sensitive to racially-toned criticism but it just kinda strikes me as uncomfortable

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not. I wouldn’t say all the time but it probably happens every week or so. Doesn’t make me feel good cuz I’m not from around here. Don’t get me wrong, I really don’t judge based on race but I do notice the dirty looks and whispers about the fact that I’m a white woman who wears wigs n shit.

look i totally understand that white people can experience racism to a certain extent; but you can’t expect everyone to love white people in a place that was literally colonized by white people; obviously you’re not the one who colonized but you absolutely benefit from the system put in place by said colonists

Anyone can experience racism. I never said I wanted everybody to love white people. Why are you defending racism against anybody? Black, white, Asian- anything. Race shouldn’t matter. Racism can happen to everyone.

yeah no kidding i’m just saying the racism a white person experiences can’t be compared to that of a person if color; it’s totally different

Why is it a problem when someone who isn’t black says they’ve experienced racism? It can happen to everyone. You’re not special in this sense. Yes, the US was built on using largely black slaves and that’s so shameful. But that doesn’t make you the only one who can experience racism.

Yeah I’m not comparing. I know I am not subject to systemic racism like black peoples are. Maybe as a woman, sure. But not as a white person. I’m just saying anyone can experience racism
