I lived in a co-ed floor freshman year and felt the same. Anyone was able to enter the bathrooms and the times when people are running up and down the hallways banging on people’s door was not really something I was a fan of 😭 I get how you feel

There’s no reason you shouldn’t feel safe in a college dorm. That shit is heavily monitored and if there were an issue there are plenty of services the school provides in order for it to be a safe place for you. Just feeling unsafe because there are people of a different gender on your floor is extremely sexist. Not saying you’re a bad person for it, it’s a learned behavior for women to be fearful of men. However, if you haven’t had an issue, there’s no reason to feel unsafe.
