ALWAYS have a proper contract and these terms in writing. ALWAYS. I’m not expert but if there isn’t anything in writing there is no “lease” or “contract” to violate so technically speaking I don’t think that is illegal

i think depending on the state you will still have rights even if a lease wasnt signed since there are just default leases in place

Go to the landlord and get a lease signed.

idk if this counts since you pay rent but some places do have squatters rights if you’ve lived there for more than a month, check if it would apply to you I guess
