My roommate has been in the kitchen on her phone for over 6 HOURS. I know I can work around her and such, but I’m one of those people who get really frustrated when I have to share kitchen space the entire time

no i can not cook or do anything in the kitchen when someone else is there, but our kitchen is also small so it gets cramped with more than one person.

What did you have 2 kitchens growing up?

Usually sharing a space doesn’t bother me but I can understand op frustration — I used to have a roommate who was in the living room all the time and took up the whole couch and always hogged the tv (both of which were mine) and had to be in the kitchen if I was (itty bitty galley kitchen with no room for two people), even with a shared space it is nice to be able to sit on the couch/cook a meal by yourself and some people just have no awareness that they’re hogging space

This by the no means means that I don’t think my roommate should be out and about in the common spaces at all
