Can we please stop adding to bpd stigma, I have also had experiences with people who have untreated bpd, but demonizing it like this will continue a culture where people never get treatment

my best friend has bpd, just because i had a bad experience living with someone with it does not mean im stigmatizing it. as i was cutting off my narc dad this roommate used me and manipulated me to get closer to my friends when i was going through a crisis. i understand the nuance of bpd, im not trying to stigmatize it, i thought people might relate to living with someone like that while actively trying to cut out maniplative people in my life. sorry if this post came off as anything but that!

I think it’s important to distinguish manipulation vs. bpd, what you went through sounds like intentional manipulation regardless of that persons bpd, when someone has bpd it’s hard to tell whether it’s intentional manipulation or lashing out bc of their pain, and not everyone with bpd intentionally manipulates people
