got asked to be roommates with so called friends months ago, already have a housing assignment and have had for a month and now they decide that i’m “not a good fit” and are kicking me out to room with their friend. but i’m the immature one for being mad!

I had this happen too. They cannot kick you out. But obviously yes, they can make life hell for you. What’s the room setup? If you have your own room (which I did) I made it very clear that I wasn’t going anywhere. Never spoke to them for the first 3 months, had my friends over, lived in that space. And after a while they got over it. But they only wanted to do that because they wanted another friend to room with them instead

they can’t technically kick me out, but they can tell me i’m unwanted there and make living with them hell

If they want to live with their friend make them request the room change, don’t let them bully you into it. But if you just want to leave and not deal with it, if they’re doing this over text you can also email the housing director screenshots and request an emergency room change

You as well! It’s blessings in disguise for sure, and it sucks when it’s against all of them, but obviously they weren’t real friends lol

Ooohhh same boat. Best part is when they make passive aggressive comments about you whenever you’re in the same room as them. At least you get to move. My administrators didn’t let me leave and I ended up sleeping in my dorms lobby.

we haven’t moved in yet, luckily the room assignment is for fall semester so i don’t actually have to live with them, but i would have had to be sharing a room
