Tactics to combat this behavior includes: -completely ignoring what they said and continue the conversation -tell them “that’s not relevant” “quit avoiding the conversation” “that has nothing to do with (insert topic)” -stop the conversation and inform them that the conversation can continue when they choose to act like an adult and stay on topic

Well then acts like a child gets treated like a child. Take away all communal items that you own and refuse to talk about anything in person, only over text/email. Get the TA involved if you have one otherwise just don’t entertain immaturity.
