Thinking about the time I posted on YikYak about annoying AI party posters and realized my roommates were in the kitchen arguing with me in the comments 😭 really solidified they were dumbasses

Both arguing for AI use, and both rely on it heavily as they study in the medical field. Good luck to their future patients 😭😭

as much as people hate to admit it, it can be a good study tool lmao. very frequently id upload all my notes and tell it to make me flashcards and quiz me (i still studied outside of this ofc) but it gave me different questions and ways of thinking about things that i wouldn’t of gotten on my own. many people use AI in ‘bad’ ways but there are a lot of benefits of it

I think the wording is what’s throwing people off, the way it’s written sounds like you are FOR AI to study

I see what y’all are saying. In this case the roommates were arguing that it’s not a major issue and has no impact to the environment. Disheartening because you’d think they might have critical thinking skills, especially with their major. More of commentary on their morals and character than anything.

It took me a few times of reading to understand it was against AI, but I also have a hard time reading sometimes so not the best person to go off of

I think the multitude of ethical and environmental effects of the AI industry as a whole greatly outweigh the instances of some people using it “responsibly”. It’s so far past just the question of using it as a tool when it’s literally impacting the physical wellbeing of humanity and the planet. There’s no mysterious cloud holding all the AI data that’s completely removed from our world, it’s actually damaging resources necessary for survival no matter how intelligently you’re using it. Fuck AI
