I feel like a day tops. If they cooked a lot the previous night and they did as many dishes as possible till the drying rack was filled and they’re waiting for it to finish drying, I’m fine with dishes sitting for the day. If they just aren’t washing them cause they don’t feel like it, that’s gross cause it’s gonna make things smell

I always do mine by the next time I make dinner ( like each night). Rn it’s a bit lax though because I’m the only one here

my future roommate can’t stand the sight of any dishes in the sink so our goal is to immediately wash all dishes- it’s a little strict but also a good habit for the future

My roommate left them for 2 months one time wouldn’t recommend doing that

our house has a rule that the sink needs to be empty at the end of the night (with exceptions for items that are soaking or extensions for busy schedules) i don’t understand people who don’t. even if you can’t get it right away, everyone has time in a 24 hour period to take 5 minutes and wash your dishes. wishing you the best of luck OP
