Okay guys please please please don’t flame me, I’m vaxxed but I do have a genuine question: why does it matter? I got the vax because I thought it would prevent me from spreading it to my older relatives, but then people figured out it never really helped you not get infected? Idk, am I missing something?

No one cares. COVID was 6 YEARS AGO. It’s a cold now.

It does actually help! Think of Covid (or any other sickness that got a vaccine) like a poison. A vaccine is essentially just a microdose of the poison. That way, if you ever happen to actually come across the poison it won’t effect you as bad because your body has already interacted with it! It’s basically just training your immune system to be ready in case you do get the sickness! If you were to not be vaccinated and then got sick, it’ll knock you on your ass, or even kill u. Stay safe!

Thank you for replying!! Sorry, I should have been more clear. I guess I understand how vaccines work in general, but I remember articles talking about how the vaccine hadn’t worked as well as other vaccines and that vaccinated individuals were still getting severe cases of covid at the same rate as others. Was that why they had booster shots? I wasn’t too informed on all that at the time

While I’m definitely not an expert, COVID has had many variants which has made it hard for them to pinpoint a specific strain to make vaccines for. I will say I definitely think you’re misinformed about vaccinated individuals getting severe cases of Covid at the same rate as others, but if that were true, it would be because of societies reluctance to vaccinate themselves around this time. Even if you are vaccinated, if no one around you is, you will 100% get sick.

Okay, thank you so much for clarifying!! That makes much more sense now

Yeah so basically when you get a COVID vaccine, it’s not really guaranteed that you won’t catch that virus, but the vaccine does guarantee that your viral load will be decreased. This is very significant because when your viral load is lower, you are at far less risk for severe upper respiratory complications and you’re also less contagious than you would be if you were not vaxxed. 😊

So, your symptoms aren't as bad, you're at lower risk for the symptoms that could cause hospitalization or death (in extreme cases, likely caused by having the virus on top of underlying health conditions), and it's less likely to spread to others! Last time I caught COVID, I thought I just had a slight cold but I tested positive. I've had both vaccines and a couple boosters, so I didn't feel like I was going toward the light like the first time I had COVID years ago lol.

Nope. I don’t care about and don’t live in fear of a COLD. You’re trying to scare people.

Hey, so many people actually died and are still dying from Covid! You should be scared!

You realize getting a vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting or transmitting it. Vaccines only help your own body fight the pathogen better but it does not stop the spread.

Are you saying vaccines don’t decrease the rate to which a sickness is transmitted? Because you would also be highly misinformed. Can you start to do your own research before burdening others with having to deal with your misinformation. One quick Google search is all it takes.

Not all vaccines reduce the transmission rate and different vaccines do that in variously different amounts. Some do a lot but some barely do anything. Also fyi i’m not against vaccines i’m just stating the fact.

Do you realize that people stopped caring about COVID. You need to let it go. You crazies don’t control the world anymore. Move on. Like I said before COVID is a cold.

You said yourself vaccines help your body fight the pathogen better therefore leading to less time infected. This means less time you are able to infect others. That’s just one way vaccines decrease the transmission. But like I said, stop putting the burden of proof on random people when the truth is just a google search away.
