What’s a polite way to tell my roommate to get a fucking social life outside of the dorm? She literally just sits at her desk all day watching YouTube videos when she isn’t in class and I feel like I can’t get a single moment to myself.

Id just ask when she is planning to go out so you can coordinate properly

Girl..just use your big girl voice and ask if you can have some alone time. One of the downsides of having to share a room with someone is that you have to lose a lot of alone time. You can also buy room curtains to go around your bed which can give a semblance of privacy

Didn’t think it mattered that much 🫩 talking to your boyfriend 24/7 is already an annoying habit

Okay but talking to someone you love at a respectful volume vs talking loudly on the phone and kicking you out for him to come over is widely different. Me and my bf are long distance so we do call more but we make sure to keep a respectful volume, and it’s always up to our roomates if they’re okay with one of us coming over. One of these makes you look kind of petty and the other fully justifies you being annoyed

You also haven’t responded to any other comments about talking to her about these things though, have you tried telling her it bothers you when she does this?

I haven’t responded because I don’t really care enough to. And yeah I have and she still brings him overnight even though I’m not comfortable with it. At least she’s tried to limit the phone stuff to just when I’m gone but it still bothers our suitemates because they can hear her when they’re trying to Bible study. She’s okay as a person but her boyfriend fuels most of her annoying behavior.

Maybe you could talk to your RA about this? Especially since it’s affecting the entire suite. I know my school is strict on not letting people stay overnight so id check your colleges rules. If she’s not respecting your boundaries be petty lowk
