We’re not turning on the heat; it’s 102° outside. If you’re cold, put on clothes; nobody wants to stay out all day in the heat and come home to the heat.

I don’t think it should be cold inside when it’s hot outside

The only time it should be hot inside (if access to ac) is when you can go outside to cool down. Plus i wanna be able to chill on the couch with a blanket

As in it can be set to cool to 73. It doesn’t need to be 68

If it is almost 102° outside, it needs to be on 68. 73 is not going to blow cool air. No one wants wet, cold air.

Tbh, we probably live in different areas of the US and have different experiences with weather, money, and ac. So this conversation will likely not lead to agreement. Maybe just have sympathy for your roomates, I don’t like going outside after being in a super cold house when it’s hot outside and maybe they are similar. Get them a small space heater or offer to go half’s on it, or just recommend ( and not pay for it) it as a gesture to make compromise

I’m not buying nobody anything. Idk what or why that’s an option. If you’re the one who’s cold in the middle of a heat wave, then you buy your heater.
