I was this roommate, let me just say: i didn’t have friends and my room was the only place I felt like I could put my guard down. I am sorry if that means you get no privacy but I genuinely feel like I don’t have anywhere else to go and just exist…

If she’s always in the room wouldn’t that mean you’re always in the room too?

Let’s introduce our roommates so they can go somewhere together. We are both new so I used to invite her out and check on her but the energy was not reciprocated. Left her to her own devices

This is very annoying but shit she may be going thru it and depressed. Why don’t u ask her how she’s doing?

Same. And eventually my roommate realized it and would invite me out with her where she would have other friends and I’d slowly make more friends and feel more comfortable (I was a transfer she’d been there for a while) And I still spend a lot of time in my room. But it’s because I’m doing homework all the time. And she and I talked about it. So I know if she wants the room to herself I’ll go somewhere else for a bit. Communication is really helpful.

Maybe she’s depressed? Not saying that’s your job to fix, but it happens a lot in college students.

So you’re always there the time she’s there? Funny how that works.

once she left a sink full of dishes then left town for a few days, it started smelling so bad in the kitchen because she left a sponge at the bottom that the mass of disgusting dishes that had soaked up food and dirty water, and i couldn’t figure out why the apartment smelled so bad till i found it and threw it out and it the smell didn’t leave until i took the trash out
