Anyone who lives / has lived in an apartment by themselves: is it peaceful or lonely? I’m considering getting a 1BR apartment cause I’m tired of living w people but I don’t wanna be super lonely

i have one rm that is ALWAYS out and it honestly makes me more lonely than if i were living by myself. i think it’s mostly how you think you will take it and if you enjoy being by yourself all the time/have friends to hangout with so you aren’t alone 24/7!

Also like 1 said having friends over is really nice cause you get to see them and then when your social battery dies you can just politely ask them to leave and then you just get to be alone in your safe space and do whatever you want

I live by myself and while I’m never rlly alone cause my bf is always over it is my favorite thing in the entire world having a place where everything is mine and I don’t have to worry about anything getting messed up and just so many wonderful things about living alone I could write paragraphs on paragraphs about the little things you don’t even realize is how nice when you’re alone

Right exactly, I’m not the type of person who needs people 24/7 so I feel like it could be rlly nice to pick and choose when to be around people. Just worried it’ll get too lonely or I won’t be getting the “college experience”

I’m also in college rn and I haven’t missed out on it one bit! I was scared at first too cause my apartment wasn’t close to where everyone else was living but my mental health has never been better nor my grades! And it also helps set boundaries with friends and people close to you because it’s YOUR apartment and you have full authority! Also because I live alone I can have friends over as late as I want and most of the time my friends come over to my apartment instead of me going to them!
