I had to move back home and live with my parents and it’s INSANE. stuff everywhere, kitchen always messy, and I’m being told to clean up after them + do things like I’m 16 again. Should I start acting like they’re normal roommates and fight back a little

All depends. If you’re paying equivalent rent for the area fuck them dished. If your living for free I’d start washing quick lol

Living for free but growing up my parents said that they’d never charge rent if myself or brother moved back home bc it’s our place too and it’s always a safe space for us if need be. They think it’s wrong to charge us rent and are fairly well off so wouldn’t need the rent anyway. So idk if that changes anything or not but I do see where you’re coming from

Well your living for free I’d start doing dishes. As an adult you have no right to their house as you did a child

I mean I’m definitely doing dishes and chores and upkeep it’s just frustrating when all the remaining mess is theirs and they say I have to clean it up for them. Almost everyday day
