I love my roommate to death but there is one thing she does that gets to me. I work night shifts and she works a nine to five, and she will constantly leaves the door unlocked when she leaves for work, so I’m there sleeping alone with it unlocked

Have you asked her about it or does she just forget? It might be worth investing in an automatic lock

Tell her to be more careful about locking the door. She’ll understand

If u want to escalate the shit out of it but 1000% solve the problem: 1)Tell her tht if she can’t lock the door when she leaves then u wont either 2) after like a week of leaving the door unlocked pretend to leave for work, leave the door unlocked, wait for her to go to sleep and then will dressed like a robber either u or a ( very well) trusted and preferably gay male “break in”and “assault” her She may be traumatized but I’d bet money tht she’ll nvr leave tht door unlocked again

I don’t mean to actually do anything to her just enough to put the fear in her and give her a reality check Check ppl who don’t lock doors typically need one

“Fake” crimes like this are still actual real crimes if only 1/2 of the occupants consented to them (B&E/Burglary) or 0/1 of the victims did (it’s just real assault, no air quotes). Also what is wrong with you?

In my state, breaking and entering is defined as entering an occupied building without permission and with (felony) or without (misdemeanor) the intent to commit a felony. Even if the door is unlocked if you don’t have permission to be there, which the roommate would not grant, it’s B&E. It’s even clearer because they would enter her room, not just common areas. No ambiguity of “I was hanging out with rm” The assault with specific intent to “teach her a lesson” is felony assault and felony B&E

I actually think this is hilarious because I have had roommates that it would literally take this to change their mind on what they are doing

What the fuck do mean “assault” her. There’s no such thing as “assault”. Assualt is assault period. The intention doesn’t matter
