Confronted my roommate about taking the trash out because it’s her turn this week and she got all defensive as if it hasn’t been sitting there TIED UP for almost a week now like it’s not even her week anymore bc she waited so long

This is trash can’t be a turn taking activity. It either has to be a “whoever fills it throws it out” situation or an “everyone takes care of their own trash” situation.

Also why do I have to ask? Also we have a man do it but the amount of trash we accumulate is a lot in between and I genuinely…have to do it because it grosses me out

In your case I’d get your own trash can and tell your roommate you two are each responsible for your own trash, especially if she’s pulling bs like “I did it last year”

Nooo I think she’s manipulating the guy to do the trash every time he comes to the apartment. Like Pavlov duties. He does it willingly, it’s sort of his form of exercise. I just do it when I start getting the ick if there are bugs and flies starting to crawl and fly around the place.

I cleaned the area fully with disinfectant and also mopped the floor of the area so it’s lasted longer than all the other times. He comes usually once a month for 5 days.

Also, we have a regular trash but the recycling doesn’t have much space so we end up using old brown bags from shopping or plastic bags to store the rest of the boxes than don’t fit. We currently have 5 😭
