One time I accidentally left a towel in the washer after unloading my laundry and whoever found it decided to throw it in the trash instead of 1.) putting it on top of the washer 2.) sending a message to the dorm groupme

This reminds me of the time when this girl left her pink laundry basket next to the dryer with a cute little note that said to load it up for her if she wasn’t back in time. Like girl😒—what do you think this place is, we are NOT being tricked into doing your laundry for you😭

I feel like a lot of yall are missing the point. I totally get moving the laundry if it’s been even like 5 minutes because people should be on top of it in a communal space, but the post I’m pretty sure is talking about the douchebags that move laundry RIGHT after it’s done. One time I was literally standing there to retrieve my friend’s laundry when she had an interview and the guy in front of me started taking it out the second the dryer stopped. NOT okay people

Get there a couple minutes before your load is done. When you have communal laundry you have to have a couple hours set aside for just that.

Girl got mad I “stole a dryer” that she was using/wanted to use like laundry in the wash AND dryer. I was there for 30 minutes and nobody came. An hour into my laundry (I was there doing hw at the table while I waited) she came back and tried to take my stuff out mid load…

Ok to be fair you should keep track of your damn laundry. It’s called responsibility and awareness. Dozens of people rely on those washing machines so it’s extremely selfish to not be on top of it. It’s your responsibility to be mindful of things like these

The note is a little brazen I will admit but tbh I prefer when people leave their baskets with their laundry so at least I have a place I can put their clothes without having to feel like an asshole for chucking them on the ground or piling them haphazardly on top of the dryer

It’s cool and infact great that you do that but then you have people who will leave their clothes in the laundry room for days I was once waiting on someone to get their laundry and 45 minutes later they hadn’t shown up I left with my clothes and went to a different laundry room to get it done. The next day those clothes were still there in the same washing machine as the day before

My college doesn’t allow you to live off campus unless you’re in VERY specific qualifications (over 22, military, married, have kids, live within 25 miles). It’s insane considering I’ve never met a single student who lives within that range, most of us are fresh out of high school, and nobody wants to have children right now lol

I unfortunately never found out who did it. I didn’t realize I left it behind until I folded my laundry a few hours later. For context I lived in a super small dorm only for juniors and seniors, like probably 35 people living there. We were all required to join the dorm groupme and 99% of the time it was used for laundry communication. It would have been SO easy for them to send a message saying “hey someone left a purple towel in the laundry room” but no. They chucked it right in the trash 😑
