Just ask in your groupchat if anyone’s seen the things missing and say that if someone is taking your things that you don’t mind them borrowing but would like for your things to be respected and asked first to respect privacy and your space

When I first moved into my previous university housing, I got a security camera for my bedroom. And I didn’t tell my roommates until months later when I knew I could trust them. I would suggest going down this route because it helps with other things too. Like it also helped when my university housing services decided to try to go into my room without notifying me (which they weren’t allowed to do due to me having an ESA).

Update: I’m moving out. Just cleaned out my whole room and I didn’t find ANYTHING I was missing

mind you i do text them in the gc and all they say is “that’s weird” and one of them didn’t even respond.

Do you have a lock on your door? I would suggest getting a camera and hiding it to find who it is

Good. When you get that installed and find who it is call them out and this time you’ll have proof. And honestly if I were you I’d make them pay back everything they took.

that’s so smart about like paying back cause the things they might’ve taken aren’t cheap

Just throwing this out there but I would at least consider pressing charges on whoever it is. If you just want your stuff back and don’t want the hassle that’s fine, but if they’re bold enough to steal electronics like an Apple Watch I’m concerned you’re not the only one they’re stealing from.

my mom said that if i get proof of them stealing my stuff then im moving out of the apartment, im sure she would press charges tbh cause everything that was stolen is technically my parent’s money.

Well, since you’re moving out, you can nuke your relationship with your ex roommates and text all of them a list of what’s missing and say if the stuff doesn’t turn up in the next 24 hours you’re filing a police report. Should scare whoever it was into returning the stuff

Yes! I like this idea.
