My roommate refuses to clean after herself and she often lets her cats litter box get full and it starts to stink up the whole apartment. Any tips on how to remind her to clean nicely? I’ve cleaned up after her and have tried to remind her plenty of times

Yea stop being nice and fight with her it’s a consistent problem. Or report her to housing.

I had this exact issue. My old roommate/ex-friend got a cat and would not clean up after it. The litterbox would be full with poop and all she did was add litter on top of it. I had to remind her several times to clean up after it and i think she got tired of me bitching about the litterbox that she got a new one and put it in her room. I never saw the litterbox but the smell that was coming from her room ensured me she wasn’t cleaning it. I finally got frustrated with it when one day her cat -

Call the ra/landlord/whoever is in charge of the apartment, then report her for animal neglect.

so personally, if i have to remind someone of something sooo much (like 10+ times), just start putting the trash on their bed. for litter, do bag it but put it on her pillow. she’ll complain, u can put ur foot down on the fact that she doesn’t clean up, and then continue to do so until she learns to actually be a decent human being. also, you couldddd probably call some kind of authority figure to be like ‘hey this is animal abuse can we like fine her or something’

Do you have a complete shared space?

As others have said, you gotta report her to the apartments. If that doesn’t work, post abt the cat on Facebook (or wherever else) to find someone who wants him and then just steal him and give him to his new, loving home. The heist always requires a bit of planning, but I’ve done this successfully 3x. Then, if they try to replace him w a different cat, you can report it to the apartment bcos it’s violating the lease (they almost never register the new animal)

Pooped in our couch and She left it there and went to work. I reported it to our leasing office and they did NOTHING. I’ve since left the situation but it hurts my heart knowing that cat is still in that situation with a neglectful owner. I wish to this day i reported it to humane society or something. That person is being neglectful. Report it ASAP. Don’t be nice about it because people will take niceness for granted!!!
