I hate it too. Why do they undervalue themselves as “just a girl”, and why does it make being stupid okay? Like I saw a bumper sticker that said “don’t honk I’m just a girl”… BITCH NO YOU JUST A BAD DRIVER??

it’s such a weird trend to me… like it reminds me of “boys will be boys” to excuse their behavior, but bc in this case it’s girls, it’s seen as more “cutesy”

i mean that’s exactly where the term came from, it was a way to be like “if boys will be boys than i’m literally just a girl” but like everything people take things to far and start using it to excuse hitting cars like how ppl use the boys will be boys to excuse assault or other bad things

huuuuh?? that was never the case?? mfs like to pin mistakes on the basis of gender (primarily for women AKA GIRLS) girls isn’t just for kids. everyone goes around saying “girl blah blah”. it was never abt trying to act young, it was always a joooke. weird for thinking that

No. That’s what they’re saying. When people use that they also say it with baby voice and as an excuse for them to act like literal infants. I HATE the “I’m just a girl” because it plays into the patriarchy- that women are incapable of basic tasks. Like grow up and learn how to act like an adult.
