Friends acted like I knew nothing about money bc my parents help me out (inability to work past few semesters due to classes) and made fun of me for explaining a credit card as “borrowed” money. They drove 2.5 hrs to spend $300 at Buc-ee’s….

….and then couldn’t buy enough food for the week so had to kinda hustle food/eat the cafe food that one of them is basically allergic to (aggravates her medical condition). They also wanted me to take money out of my investment portfolio to go get food. Yeah…I totally know nothing about money but y’all are geniuses…

Also they invited everyone but me on that trip. And it’s like, I helped them out with class a lot and was there for them but then they didn’t want to invite me. I’m no longer friends with them as that whole group was very toxic. One of them even tried to say “I have the same friends I did freshman year” as a gotcha moment but I had to point out that all my friends transferred but we all keep in touch. There wasn’t some big fight. Any friend I wasn’t friends with now are people THEY said to drop

I dropped them recently, unfortunately it was on my 21st birthday after I had to practically pull teeth to get them to do dinner with me after they kept saying they were too busy for it but then we’re planning dinner right in front of me with each other

Literally, and I do my best to educate myself. I grew up in a decent household, so it’s not something that I really had to be concerned about during my life. I am very fortunate in that aspect. That also means I’m kind of teaching myself all the budgeting stuff. My friends all come from mixed homes, but especially the ones who say all this stuff about me, grew up in probably more fortunate situations than I did.

I also very recently was lucky enough to have my dad start, teaching me a little bit about stock and shares and all of that. But my friends know next to nothing, they grew up in very fortunate situations, and even though they are no longer on their parents time they don’t slow down that kind of life. I believe one of them is now in credit card debt. No I’m not saying that’s funnier or anything, but I just find it insane that they call me irresponsible and act like I know nothing.
