I lived with two dudes last year and I’ve known the one for many years and we had lived together before and were completely fine together, then we had to have a randomly assigned roommate and he was such a slob, always took up the bathroom for no reason, had no spatial or social awareness and turned me off of the roommate experience. you should have an email in outlook about residential life, and room reassignment , you tell them your reason for moving rooms, and then tell them what room you would like in what building.. i lowk said my roommates make me feel uncomfortable as a gay man and are not treating me right, so i automatically got through, but idk how it would be for you

yeah my school is def different cus if i said that they would just make us have a meeting with the ra/rd 😭 i had issues last semester with my suitmate harassing me and they said bc they’re not threatening me they basically couldn’t do anything

it might be different if it’s getting harassed based on race and sexuality and stuff but idk the process at my school for that, but yea i fear im not gonna get a single easily. i put in an accommodation request for it due to my mental health issues but theyre being really slow about it 🫩

thank u lmao my school is pretty big and we just started classes but it’s pretty annoying, i’m hopefully getting a response monday and im gonna start harassing them into giving me a response atp 😭

This is so dependent on your school and its housing situation and student demographics. If you didn’t get a single before the year started, I assure you there’s a massive waiting list (for example singles go to students with disabilities that require the accommodations first). Plus you still have to pay extra for it. Your school probably has 1-2 open for EMERGENCIES, like OP using the harassment claim probably got them one of the emergency rooms

Them and a couple of their friends decided to get a townhouse together and I didn’t know about it, we all just silently decided to not live with each other and I find it so funny. (I had many conversations with both of them, even tho the random one was the only one I had issues with, and the roommate I liked became even more considerate with things he wasn’t even doing and the other one just kept doing the things even after he said sorry and said he’d stop)
