get to know them individually first and then try to get be more integrated with the group

Is this a dorm or apartment? Are you a freshman? Do you know if they’ve been living together for a year or longer?

(using my college dorm knowledge) just make an effort to be friendly with them. you don’t have to go out of your way to try and woo them though. just a smile or wave with “how are you doing?” or “what are you up to today?” when you’re in the same room, offer snacks/leftovers you don’t want, etc. if they accept you, cool! if they don’t, sad, but at least you’ll have a good roommate relationship!
