I try to chit chat with my roommate, not cause I want to but cause it’s awkward asf when it’s so quiet and we barely even know each other. Tbh I am so over this, it’s all one sided convos anyways. Idk what to do

ppl need peace and quiet from being out all day having to interact with everyoe. you think I wanna go back to my place and have my ear yapped off there too ??? You think it’s nice to spend all day every day just nonstop talking

My best advice is ask if she wants to do something occasionally. Say, “I’m gonna go grab dinner, want to come with?” or “Wanna watch a movie?” or “Do you want to play cards/connect 4/etc?” Literally whatever. If she’s not interested, oh well. If she is, you break the ice.

I don’t talk to her longer than maybe 1-2 mins a day, we just moved in so I am just trying to get to know her.

like last night someone was yelling outside our dorm obviously joking and i asked my room mate "did you hear that ? i wonder why they were screaming haha" and they go "i don't know, but they were just playing around probably" DUH I JUST WANTED TO HAVE A SILLY CONVERSATION god
