It’s not that bad, my roommates (yes plural) just relied on me to supply toilet paper for the entire second semester and one of them freeloaded the whole year

my suitemates did this, along with leaving their USED pads and tampons all over the bathroom & refused to take out their trash for it. i was pissssed cause we literally had a trash room 3 doors down, ON THE SAME FLOOR& THEY WERE 20 YEARS OLD, IN COLLEGE, CAUSE HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW BETTER???!!!!?! then they got mad at me cause i wouldn’t take their trash out. like ew hell nah tf

This is something I would do, but I would have a conversation w/ my roommate cuz there’s an actual reason: Toilet paper rolls and their holders exist in this weird Schrödinger’s-dirty area for me. To replace the toilet paper after I’ve wiped would make it too dirty, but to replace it after I’ve washed my hands would make my hands dirty again. I could wash my hands again, but that wastes soap, and it’s just so much more convenient to replace it the next time u go, before you wipe.

Call me petty, but even after us discussing alternating or pooling for buying toilet paper, I was the only one getting it, so I just kept a roll in my room and carried it back and forth

i fear i see no initial issue with this scenario (tp still usable off the holder) but if there has been a previous discussion of this being an issue, then yeah it’s messy. if you haven’t mentioned this bothering you, please do. in some ppls households this is just a normal thing to do.

I get the dirty feeling but even after not replacing it, you don’t think your hands get even dirtier plus you and everyone else makes it even dirtier by having to hold the roll up every time to rip off a piece by the roll not being in the holder?

That’s why I switch them before I go when it’s near the end of the roll. Then the roll that’s sitting on top is the one that’s almost out, and whoever uses the last of it can just throw it away and the new roll is already on the dispenser.

I don’t have very much storage in my bathroom but there’s a tiny closet outside the bathroom where we keep the bulk pack of toilet paper so our bathroom floor isn’t cluttered. Sorry about your storage situation but at least move that shit farther from your toilet cleaner or something. Gross.
