I have been wanting to start training to do a 5k. I have never run before. Whats the best way to start training?

Start slow and work on distance, not speed. Try a mile. Depending on how you do you can adjust for your next run. As long as you have some sort of consistent schedule (~3-4 runs a week) you’ll improve!

Just run n see how far u can go. Walk if u have to. When u catch breath, run again. Basically doing splits. Or join a run club

Build up mileage overtime and don’t push yourself past what you can handle. Once you get a feel of your body and level you can add mileage and speed. This way you avoid injury.

I don’t think you need prep much for a 5K. Just enjoy and keep going. My first race was 10K. It was hard but it was so fun.

I can’t commit to a running club unfortunately. My schedule is all over the place. Thank you for this advice!

Yeah this here is the best way. Don’t over complicate it. Walk when you need to
