If you feel like a pervert because I said you disagree with not wanting children to see a woman’s or mans ass that should tell you exactly how you really feel. It’s literally what I’m talking about and you disagreed . I simply stated that. How is that discrediting you? Also I hold men to the same standard sorry if you believe your ass is apart of progress I’m I think you would be just fine without kids seeing it.
Lets live in the real world, children shouldn’t be walking around this its in public everyone sees nobody is staring but we can all see, you don’t have to act like you don’t know this or act willingly ignorant by pretending we can just look the other direction and the problem goes away. Women have become too comfortable that let children see their bodies. And I wouldn’t like to see a man do the same with their bodies either. It’s borderline sexual harassment.
Then you are free to stay in your isolated religious communities and rant about outdated purity culture values there. But I don’t think complaining will solve anything. The SA rates for women won’t decrease even if everyone wore baggy clothing. But I’m not going to waste the rest of my time arguing with someone who can’t type in complete sentences. Have a nice evening.
I think the point is that existing in a body is not inherently sexual. Children aren’t looking at a little cheek because they aren’t taught that yet. It’s just someone’s body existing. If a little cheek being out is more comfortable for someone, who cares? No one is forcing anyone to look and again, I think the point is existing in your body isn’t inherently sexual so therefore it’s not weird.
Im sorry but this is bullshit. Women or men should not be walking around with straight cheeks out, especially not children. This isnt about shoulders or midriffs, this is about covering up private parts, especially when youre in public. Its disrespectful in many cultures to be walking around with your ass hanging out and you should respect that.
Do you live In some alternate reality where a naked body isn't sexual? Why are we trying to act willingly ignorant to make the argument work? I'm not JUST talking about women I've been saying I hold men to the same standard because it's obvious someone was gonna use this as an argument and I do use the same standard. And would you like to answer the yes or no question everyone has been avoiding that I asked?
While I see what you’re saying, you mention in many cultures it is disrespectful. While that’s true, in many cultures nudity is celebrated, and wearing more clothes can even be ostracized. So it’s important to realize different cultures feel different ways, so everyone should just dress according to how they are comfortable.
But we don't live in this cultures we live in America. The cultures you refer too are nude in a specific non-public or private areas OR tribalistic and not connected to modern society whatsoever. These arguments only work if we pretend we don't live in modern America. I would like to know with a yes or no that your okay having children seeing your body that way. But we all know men flashing are put in jail and labeled as child preds, why does it not apply to women?
You came to that conclusion on your own. And I have not been talking about that at all. I'm talking about string tops and having BARE cheeks out. No guy walks around with their balls hanging out. And if they do lock them up. If you think having shorts that have your cheeks out aren't too short then say yes to the same yes or no question I ask everyone. Do you seriously believe someone not wanting kids to see your cheeks out is too much?
I would disagree that “those” cultures aren’t in America. I did not specify that those were the cultures I was referring to. Take Portland, Oregon for example. Their nudity laws are different and it isn’t unusual to see people in the nude and nobody really glances twice because that is more normalized. I think there is also a big different between flashing and not dressing modestly. When the word modest is said, that doesn’t mean people are pushing for full nudity.
I would also say that it does also apply to women. If a woman is flashing her genitalia, then she is also deemed a child predator. You’re taking two different parts and labeling them equal in a society that generally doesn’t. There was a time where shorter shorts on men were more in fashion, often to the degree of some cheek being out. They weren’t labeled pedos, and if men felt more comfortable wearing shorter shorts I don’t see why they shouldn’t.
Except it's not extreme women do wear shorts like that and it's a fact they are getting shorter and shorter. It's not a scenario either these women walk to the store or down the street or around parks. Nobody is arguing with you about shorts that don't show any ass you brought that up I made is clear with my original comment you know that. So yes I am Againt adults flashing children. If you agree you can be the first person to answer my yes or no question.
Yet women are defending the genitals being out when I said I don't think children should see their genitals? Don't you think that's telling? Your argument only works if I'm arguing with a wall but clearly everyone is okay with children seeing them that way. And your right it is the problem because it's sad I see that at everywhere I go.
My statement was that the concept of modesty objectifies and sexualizes women more than a tank top ever will. You jumped to talking about child predators flashing children. You claimed that women are victimizing children in the same way by wearing shorts that cut off above their ass cheeks. Notice this: you took a style of clothing women have worn for decades and compared it to men assaulting children.
When you go to the beach and see women in bikinis next to children, is your first thought to call them a predator? Are you worried about the child’s safety? No. Butt cheeks and breasts aren’t even classified as genitals. You’re calling them that to make your scenarios sound more offensive than they are.
First of all the thank you for looking into it and coming at a logical standpoint I really appreciate it and take into account your points. Although my whole thing boils down to not wanting myself or children to see bare cheeks out with the short shorts. And yes I do agree some parts of the US it is common to be nude and my original argument Doesnt talk about it I lost sight of that on my last comment. I still do not believe it should be common for children to see.
I didn't ignore it but we both know that isn't what you replied to me about because I wasn't talking about that to begin with. And your saying the context is what matters and I think your referring to a bikini. The difference between that and women's underwear is non-existent besides material. We obviously view this differently and thank you for being the first person to stand on what they believe in. I don't think children should be seeing a woman's or mans ass and you disagree.
Thanks for trying to discredit me by labeling me as a pervert. I made a comment about how the concept of modesty is wielded as a tool to oppress women, and you used it as a platform to voice your frustrations that women are able to dress how they like in modern society. This is just another example of how the male ego hinders progress.
Way to read every word I said but not process a single one. I’m saying you’re trying to paint me as a pervert to discredit me by twisting my words. You’re hindering progress by halting a conversation around the oppression of women to whine about the fact that women don’t dress how you want them to. You didn’t make me feel like a pervert or actually discredit me. You just made yourself look like an ass.
Im not twisting it, you replied to my original argument about women’s asses out. If you wanted to talk about how the oppression of women is still happening then you should’ve said so because you know thats not what I was talking about originally. You don’t have to pretend you dont know that.
bro #1 doesn’t even know the difference between their/they’re, you’re/your and to/too. of course even his argument wouldn’t be coherent 😭 he’s just another creep who sexualizes every woman that doesn’t dress to his standards, and the whole connection to pdfs and sa is ignorant asl- not to mention obsessive given the amount of times he’s mentioned it. and we ALL know he clearly only holds women to these extreme standards given how he was talking in his lil temper tantrum(s)
I hold men to the same standard like I said 100x times. It's so backwards to me the creep is the guy that doesn't want children to see all that😭. The connection to BOTH people willingly showing their body to children, yeah both parties are willing so there’s the connection. It’s not extreme to not show children your body. This isn’t some mind bending logic my stance is don’t show kids, but thats too “extreme” for you.
LMAOOO cmon if a guy was gonna let his balls hang and people said “think about the children” and he genuinely tried to make his case on why they should be able to see, we would all see him as the creep. There’s a reason people stop replying to me or avoid the question “is your stance you’re Okay with children seeing asses out?” Because they know how creepy it is to answer only ONE person answered it. Yes it does help me sleep at night knowing I can say YES I don’t want kids to see that.
And yet…. People are defending it. You’re right it is weird. LMAOO . Like genuinely why are you pretending nobody is defending themselves against “I don’t the kids to see EVERYONES body like that” I brought it up and yes people are defending themselves against it. Im not grasping at straws here obviously because everyone is trying to say “YES let the kids see”
I don’t understand how egotistical you have to be to continue commenting when you’re obviously missing something. If everyone’s disagreeing with you, take a step back and ask yourself if you could be wrong, even just a little bit. No one thinks you should flash children. You’re acting like modesty is a concept created to protect children from seeing people’s private parts when it’s always been about purity culture and control
Im not talking about some weird hypothetical here I go outside I go on walks I see it all the time and so do the kids. Or it’s only creepy to not want them to see that? Would you genuinely stand on that hill and tell the mothers of the children “Yes Im okay with your kid seeing my ass” If you wanna point out its a creepy question THATS FINE but that it literally my point. Yes this is uncomfortable because thats the nature of it. Why does it make you so angry I don’t want the kids to see that?😭
So you would say that to a mother? If you’re avoiding it because it’s uncomfortable you can see where i’m coming from. If not then you truly don’t believe what you’re saying and are arguing cause you think its what you should be doing cause you think people look good with their stuff out.
If someone’s mom told me they didn’t feel comfortable with what I was wearing while I was out in public, I’d be genuinely shocked. People decide what to wear based on time and place. I’ll wear shorts and tops that cover everything if I’m babysitting, not if I’m walking around a college town. You’ve completely derailed this conversation into something it wasn’t about.
#1. I didn’t derail anything It’s the same point I’ve been making since my ORIGINAL comment you can see for yourself. People just don’t like the idea of a kid NOT seeing them. #2. You’re agreeing with me if you’re saying kids shouldn’t see that. #3 If you’re not willing to tell someone’s mother you think they should be okay with it then you seriously don’t believe in what you say.
