Leaving them was one of the saddest periods of my life… but one of the healthiest things I could’ve done. I don’t think I would’ve learned true friendship if I hadn’t. Now when I have friends and they act rude and put me down as a joke, I try to only respond by aggressively complimenting them and they reciprocate. I don’t like putting each other down even as a joke. We have enough of that in the world.
