situationships are people who lead others on and make them feel like they might commit to you while flings are people who you have a short relationship with and the two of you are upfront about it being a fling

that’s what i initially thought, i think this has to be re-established tho bc ive mainly heard it used when referring to people they repeatedly hookup with. at most maybe a fling they ended up catching feelings for or sumn (which isnt the same as being led on). words lose their meaning so fast nowadays😭
