he would be right if there wasn’t the systemic misogyny, discrimination, and high rates of abuse from men against women. Men often don’t know / don’t think about the disproportionate impact it has against women, hence women “hating all men” is more normalized and understood by women by their shared experiences vs men just getting their hearts broken
OP here, I kinda find it ironic how everyone automatically assumed I was a guy because I said I don’t think that either gender should be saying that they hate another gender and how I find it weird as fuck that it’s OK for girls to say that they hate men, but not for men to say that they hate girls and how gender wars in general are lame asf and that there are bad people in both genders and lumping an entire group of people together is lowkey weird (I’m a girl btw 😍)
being assaulted is never ok, regardless of gender I’m sorry that happened to you. It’s very easy for people to feel indifferent / cruel towards “others” that are not part of their group. Find those who empathize and know there are feminists on your side as well. True Feminism fights for equality, We’re all in this together :)
I completely understand that there are systemic issues such as misogyny and discrimination shit I’ve faced it on a daily basis. However, my thing is, I just don’t understand what the point in saying that you hate all men is, like it’s not going to solve the issues of systemic misogyny or discrimination if anything that’s only going to push us further apart, granted I can admit there are some really horrible men out there however, I don’t hate all men I can acknowledge that there are good men😭
yeah, the “I hate men” thing just strikes me as an unproductive attribution of one or a few bad experiences to an entire population. it’s unproductive since it blames a part of them which fundamentally cannot be changed, and trivializes the original issue you had (e.g. them being misogynistic or just an asshole).
