I’ve had dark hair my whole life (dark brown natural, had a subtle balayage YEARS ago, had a red ombré for a while soon after that) and every now and then I hear an alt platinum blonde look calling to me.. should I heed its call

I also hate caring for difficult hair colors, but from what I’ve seen platinum blonde is harder to get to than it is to maintain, unlike red which holy FUCK I hated maintaining. Did a good job at it though, lasted a lot longer than my hair stylist expected

i think platinum blonde is way too much maintenance. you have to get it touched up every 4 weeks at least. if you let it grow out too much past 4 weeks, there will be an uneven ring around your scalp when you try to touch it up. not to mention, if you want it to look and feel good after all the bleach, it’s best to use nicer shampoos made for bleached hair. and it’s all so so expensive. like so expensive.
