Idk why OP did, but flamingos can both swallow boiling water, and sleep overnight standing in water that turns into ice around them, then they just push themselves out and away with their other (raised) foot in the morning. Pretty well represented by this drawing, whether intentional or not!

I chose it because temperance means balance, and when I think of an animal that balances, I think of this sucker on one foot
