What’s the best way to learn color theory other than taking classes?

In my opinion, just watching other people color. You learn how others blend them together. I also recommend experimenting with inverse colors first. It helped me

It’s really nothing too crazy, once you learn how to differentiate between cool and warm variations between colors (cad red vs alizarin crimson) it’s much easier to mix more vibrant and consistent hues. Also knowing how complimentary colors work so you can make neutrals. Also fun to learn the difference between tints, tones, and shades!!! If you look online I’m sure you’ll find all sorts of resources 🫶🫶

Play with color. Use red, yellow, and blue plus black and white to paint something.

Honestly, force urself to only use the primary colors w black and white to swatch different shades and hues. It’s time consuming but rlly helps w shading and color control
