Ive been selling art for a long time and unfortunately its not very profitable. Usually the amount of time and energy spent on it means making less than minimum wage. I have found that partnering with peers can help and the best costumers in a pinch are often friends and family because they are more invested in and patient for your work.
for reference, I work part time, am a full time student, and I’m taking care of my grandma and unexpectedly my mom as well, on top of that I’m disabled, I’m not asking for handouts but I can barely make rent let alone afford food and even making $20 off of art would mean I can eat for a week😭 this situation is just so stressful and I’m trying to find any way possible to make money
also I don’t think I’m good enough to take comms yet (I’m very good at certain things and questionable at others) and I don’t think I have the platform to actually make money off of that but idk. someone let me know a good hustle even if it’s not art related bc DoorDash isn’t letting me sign up either😭
Hey not sure if your school or area has anything like this at all, but I used to be heavily involved with my school’s organization that ran our food pantry and offered emergency financial grants to students who applied… from working in that line of work for several years now I know it’s extremely difficult to accept help in that form, but it might be worth looking into… your situation sounds very similar to several others ive read about through this organization too, so you’re not alone 🫂🫂🫂
