I think you’re doing terrific keep it up!

Start super basic with pencil and practice your letter structure. Complex graff relies heavily on the basis that all letters are formed by connecting bars. Honestly not bad for just starting out, but definitely keep that tag on the bottom right much simpler

Is this still too complex? I’m very dedicated to keeping the cat accent on the r but r there other ways I can simplify this?

I would simplify it even more, but I'm also impartial to local graffiti style. Not sure where you're from but look at what's around you. NY is known for thick flare/chisel tags, Philadelphia is known for tall skinny wicket tags just for example.
