...first layer and then start using linseed oil or how does it work? when do I need to start using more oil instead of a solvent? can I just go in with the linseed oil or would it be better to start with the turpenoid?

Start with adding turpenoid, you can add linseed if you want longer drying time at first but with every layer add less and less turpenoid. I like 2-3 thin layers and then go with paint and add a bit more medium,
