Selling art at a local cafe, not sure how to price…Soft Pastel, 30$? This is testing to see what sells, the cafe only takes cash on my behalf, college town. Eventually will do Venmo.

I think this is really cool! I’m the worst at pricing so I cant help you with that part. I don’t think it’s a ridiculous price though

Your other artworks seem better than this one. I wouldn’t even pay for this tbh.

If I walked up to you and showed you this, and you had to buy this right now. How much would you personally pay for this?

I would offer 25 but I’m not someone who has bought art before. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were asking 35. It would be a nice gift. I sell my oil painting prints for $17 and those are just reproductions, this is an original

I’d buy this if you were my niece. But from a professional artist I wouldn’t. I can give you my reasons but I won’t if you don’t want unwarranted criticisms.

I think this is pretty cool and your pricing is very reasonable! I think most people might even charge more for this

I want to preface this by saying this is my opinion, and these are what I personally look for when buying art

The values don’t seem to be coming from a discernible light source, and the choice of not finishing the piece doesn’t add to the overall composition. There is no emotional pull or interesting visuals (like I felt with your blue pastel artwork). There is no consistency in which the rendering is applied. The line art itself doesn’t connect at some points, and there are areas where there seems to be mistake marks that aren’t erased.

Makes complete sense! Sketchbook study of form from a generally illuminated museum piece - vibing out the style, honestly. Thank you for the input - esp about the lines and what people look for
