I think it’s fantastic for what it’s worth. I can’t do art to save my life but I adore it. And yours- she looks like she’s real and she could tell me something. It’s really incredible

Ty! Ima be fr i kinda bullshit it. But i start with a slightly darker midtone, place the very rough shadows (primarily the eye socket, under the cheekbone, the neck, and the inside of the ear), add some saturation like orange pink and blue based on the skin undertones wherever the shadow is, blur it all, and then go back in and add details based on the reference image until it feels right lol

also checking saturation and value by changing the background color is good bc it stops me from making the skin too saturated/ashy or too dark/light
