in my experience - i will blatantly ask or (since my friends/family know my themes) if i think they’d like something i will ask if they want me to paint them something. i’ve also posted some of my work and stated i’m open for them as well. i’ve also given a lot as gifts which helps reel in reoccurring customers

i put out a couple emergency ads in 2 discord servers i actively post my art in and interact with. im short on rent this month so its very very relieving
