the nose should be practiced on- i struggled w this too. what helped me was breaking down the nose into shapes and turning reference photos upside down. i do this just to focus on the shapes that make up a nose. it’s not a bad idea to trace over images of noses to help break them down into simpler shapes.

Contour, use a photo reference to help you place shadows especially to pronounce anatomical features like eyes, noose, cheeks, these come forward in space.
