Magnify the image as much as possible. Lay paper and tape to keep paper in place and trace. Some say tracing is cheating. Getting the lines and proportions for yourself making a copy of your subject will help you find lines and depth.

Tracing is cheating. I'm drawing from reference, it's about actually being able to do proportions in your head. It will make me into a better artist

Would you consider magnifying the image so you can draw your subject bigger than six inches? It may be easier if you don’t put so much detail in a small area.

Magnifying isn't cheating, tracing is.

If you do magnify, that may give you more room to work in. It may be worth a shot.

Tracing is not cheating! We literally trace in art school to learn how to lay down the facial fat distribution. It actually will probably help you. Keep fundamentals in mind, if you wing it your brain will not absorb the rules. It is a good start tho and I can tell it’s him!
