At my job we ACTIVELY discourage those mfs and their parents. We send them to byoma or bubble instead

Seeing literal children use anti-aging skincare breaks my heart. I personally don’t like how much we focus on anti-aging stuff as a society, but seeing kids internalize that and think they need to use it makes me sad

personally.. people under like 12-13 don’t need skin care besides the basic cleanser, sunscreen & moisturizer. you shouldn’t expose them too early unless they wear make uo

Oh I see. I don’t get how this could hurt a kid though. Unnecessary, sure, there’s no way my mom would have bought it for me when I was 10 but if you got money like that I don’t see the harm in it. We really should be using anti-aging products BEFORE we age, preventing aging is kind of the point. it’s a common misconception that anti aging products are for older people

you don’t see how using too much product might damage your skin? because that’s what’s happening. using anti aging products can be used before recommended times (like retinoids are recommended at 25 but can be used before) but using skincare formulated for aging skin when you really only need face wash, moisturizer, and sunscreen (which is your preventative at this age) absolutely will damage your skin. this is confirmed by many dermatologists who are making videos on this same trend.

and retinoids aren’t even used that much before the recommended period. i would never imagine that a 13 year old could receive benefits from using something like retinal. there’s no need to use a product that creates collagen when you have plenty of it. you absolutely will damage your skin. this is the same with other products. over moisturizing, over exfoliating, etc? you can cause premature aging!

i hope it didn’t come off rude lol. but yeah. it’s really bad for non-aging skin to use products formulated for that. so many issues can arise from it. and kids only want it because they see it online- when it’s geared towards adults

I'm 22 with acne but am really hesitant to try drunk elephant. Not because I don't believe in skin care but my skin is weirdly sensitive and I have to be hella strategic about what skin care I use. I can't imagine using drunk elephant in elementary school. If a kid uses that it'll melt their skin off or some shit.
